Jesus Christ (Death)

So wonderful was Christ’s suretyship, and so perfect was the confidence of God in the engagements of the Surety, that “the souls of the elect were saved upon trust for four thousand years.”  [ROOS]

It should be for our perpetual joy that “the redeeming power of the blood of Christ is greater than the condemning power of sin.”  [ROOS]

If a dying Saviour could redeem, a living Saviour can give the victory. [ROOS]

We never read that Jesus Christ was more cheerful in all his life on earth, than when he was going to lay down his life for us. [ALE]

What a support to our faith is this, that God the Father, the party offended by our sins, is so well pleased with the work of redemption! [TBR]

Never let out of your minds the thoughts of a crucified Christ. Let these be meat and drink unto you; let them be your sweetness and consolation, your honey and your desire, your reading and your meditation, your life, death, and resurrection.  [PRASD]
