All who profess to be Christians but are not living holy lives are really renouncing obedience to Christ’s commands and despising his promises, preferring instead the pleasures of sin. Such people declare they have found nothing lovely in Christ’s commands, nor any happiness in keeping them, nor any assurance in Christ’s promises, nor any value in the things promised compared with the world and the pleasures of sin.
